The residents are provided with individual therapy, group therapy, spiritual counseling, case management, referrals to community resources, opportunities for physical activity and access to the local library. The WLRP is tailored for each participant, to “look wholly at herself and address the crucial areas of her life.”ĭuring their stay, the women’s days are structured by a dedicated staff of licensed professionals, specialists and volunteers who supervise planned activities. The women receive treatment that addresses emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual factors, and the goal is to empower them to become responsible and self-sufficient. The Women's Life Recovery Program uses a comprehensive therapeutic process. Most of the women arrive with no money on hand and no income. From October 2018 to September 2019, 33 women entered the program. In 2019, thanks to generous donors and the ongoing support of the community, Haven of Rest doubled the length of the Women's Life Recovery Program, from three to six months to six to 12 months. The program helps local women “overcome their addictions, while identifying self-defeating behaviors and maximizing their potential to live and work in the community.” The WLRP is “designed to keep families together and help them recover together.” Since 2013, The Women’s Life Recovery Program has served 224 women and provided them with 17,695 nights of shelter and 39,760 meals. One of their successful programs is the Women’s Life Recovery Program, which provides women in recovery with comprehensive residential treatment. Though Haven of Rest began as a shelter for men experiencing homelessness, they have expanded into 11 separate ministries, each supporting a different group of people. For 63 years, the Haven of Rest Ministries have served the communities of Battle Creek and Calhoun County.
